A Trip to Japan

All these years i have been traveling to Japan but every time with family or to visit family there.
But this year I decided to take a backpacking trip and cover all the beautiful cities and some off beat places(My Knowledge about japan helped me 😉)
. I started my journey from Delhi to Osaka by Ana Airways which is my all time favourite airline. I turned my passion into my career, and so i got the chance to travel to Japan through Wovoyage.

I will give you reasons to travel Japan.

I started my journey from Osaka, the commercial city of Japan. The streets of Japan will make you famish. Sushi is the most popular dish in Japan. I never liked sushi before until i tasted Kita Ku Osaka's (traditional restaurant) sushi. It was the best sushi i ever had. CHOPSTICK-LICKING-GOOD!!

For the desert i recommend you to try Matcha ice cream, my all time favourite. Good food and good time is all you want. I rushed to play pachinko after treating my tummy, and almost got addicted to it. Good game i tell you.

My next destination was Kyoto. Outside the Higashi-marutamacho station i saw live music playing in street alongside river, near were the trees of cherry blossom blooming, it was a sight i have seen only in movies. Near the station there are some hostels in 1km away, you can walk or take taxi it will cost you 800yen so i chose to walk instead, it was a good walk.

There are many things to do in Kyoto, taking ninja class is one of them. Taking ninja class was one amazing and crazy experience for me and to my surprise i did very well so congo to me.

In a clean country like Japan, i thought this is the opportunity to clean my mind and soul. I took a meditation session in Shunkoin temple but before that you'd want to know how did i reach there. I hired a bicycle and took a bicycle ride to the temple early morning. What a good start of the day right?

Nightlife in Japan is a total different experience. Smell of different dishes covers the street. The alluring smell makes you hungry instantly. The street is cheerful with colourful lights of shops and street and armies of people. You will also find many talents performing in the street. There are shops, restaurants and bars themed differently. As i was strolling i found a Ninja Bar. It was based on Ninja theme. It gave me unique experience of bar.

Not often we get the chance to see bamboo forests in their natural state. Arishyama Bamboo forest in Kyoto is one of the most beautiful and serene place for an escape. Sun rays cutting through the graceful tower of bamboos making illusion of glittery green background. It's a really peaceful pathway. You can walk the entire pathway or take a rickshaw. This pathway leads to Heavenly Dragon Temple, or Tenryu-ji Temple. You also can't miss Fushimi-Inari-Taisha Shrine and Kinkaku-ji Temple when you visit Kyoto. Fushimi Inari-Tashi is an entire world of shrines and torii gates. The torii gates gives a picturesque sight with thousands in number standing in a row making a pathway.

I took a train from Kyoto to Nara. Nara Park is a very popular tourist spot. You'll find deers roaming around freely there, that's why it is also known as Nara Deer Park. This is not the only attraction in Nara park but there are also monuments of historical importance. There were also couples doing their pre-wedding shoot in this beautiful place. This huge park is where you can find Todaiji, which houses the world’s largest bronze Buddha statue inside the world’s largest wooden building; There is also a replica of top of Ashoka Pillar, modelled after a holy lion which is the symbol of Buddhist teaching.

Kofuku-ji, which has a famous pagoda that’s one of the tallest in Japan; Sarusawa Pond, a small, artificial pond which also doubles as a viewing spot for Kofuku-ji; Nara National Museum; and Kasuga Taisha, known for its many stone lanterns.

I visited Japan during the season of Cherry blossom. It is when Japan looks the prettiest. I visited Nagoya for cherry blossom. Tsuruma park in Nagoya was covered in blush pink cherry blossom trees and people enjoying the view and celebrating with their friends and family. I never saw a sight like this. There were people everywhere sitting under the shower of Cherry flower. Park was carpeted with cherry flowers. The sight of the park changes when sun sets, it has different mood with pink Cherry trees everywhere and the touch of pretty lights. I could sit there whole day.

My next destination was Tokyo, the busy capital of Japan. I explored various places in Tokyo like Yoyogi Koen, one of Tokyo's largest city parks. It is a very pleasant park with many activities going on around. When in Tokyo you can't miss Harajuku Takeshita street, a pedestrian shopping jungle. It is a very busy fashion street with colourful and kawaii boutiques, also many attractive restaurants and cafes are lined up there. I strolled around the street, did some window shopping and tried many street foods. I was having fun by myself.

I also witnessed the busiest intersection Shibuya and crossed the path myself. You will not know how crazy it looks when traffic light turns red when you are crossing, you are among them. But when you are above the street from the top floors of the building you can see the chaos of people crossing from all sides.

For my last day i decided to take a bus tour to see Mt. Fuji. You can otherwise ride a train to view Mt. Fuji. So i departed early in the morning for the Mt. Fuji sightseeing from Tokyo. Mt. Fuji is an active volcano and the highest mountain in Japan. It has been worshipped as a sacred mountain since ages. The view of this mountain is so alluring, standing tall with perfect shape and clouds giving extra filter. There are thousands of pictures of Mt. Fuji flooding in internet but nothing can beat the real experience of seeing Mt. Fuji with naked eyes.

I had the most amazing time of my life in Japan. What i loved the most about Japan is the people, their manners and generosity towards guests. My trip went very smoothly and honestly i think Japan is a country where you can travel very safely. I highly recommend for ladies, it is a country where you can go out late night alone and no one will bother you, you can travel without worrying about theft or pickpocketing. I didn't face any of it.
