After working for a long week, we always wait for Friday to come and as the days in a week pass by we tend to work happily knowing the weekend is nearby. So, why to wait at home, chilling in track pants or shorts when there is so much to explore in and around? Delhites are spoilt by choice when it comes to planning a weekend getaway. From historical architectures to heart skipping mountain views, Delhi offers many getaways to help escape the monotonous lifestyle.
Here are some places from Delhi which can rejuvenate your wanderlust:
Neemrana – Well known as Mini Japan of India, this royal fort palace is located at equal distance from three major cities- Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur. Surrounded by greenery all over and pleasant throughout the year. The architecture is exceptionally beautiful and has now been turned into a grand hotel giving travelers a feeling of actually living the history! Ziplining activity can be an exciting one to explore inside the premises.
Sariska National Park – This can be perfect for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts. Sariska is famous for Tiger Reserve. October to June is the best time to visit there. This peaceful place can be best explored in a safari ride as the tourists can get close to animals and to understand their natural abode.
Nahan – I have personally been there and this is an uncommon yet picturesque town in the state of Himachal Pradesh. Just 248 km away from Delhi, it can be best to escape the scorching heat in summers. You can have a relaxing weekend with beautiful vistas, pleasant weather, and less crowd.
Tattapani – Hot water springs will make a memorable holiday with your companions. Soak your soul in those hot sulfur springs which have medicinal properties. Then, take a walk through the Shiva Caves which is less than 10 minutes. Other adventure activities like river rafting, climbing the rock and trekking can also be opted. A drive of 365 km from Delhi proves to achieve sheer bliss and contentment.
Auli – Skiing at Auli is one famous activity for which this place has come into limelight from a few times. This old-time hill station built in Century AD has now become a famous place to spend a weekend. While roaming around you can find many sacred temples also. The purpose of spending a weekend outside the home is to relax our mind and soul from the hustle-bustle of daily lives and for that, a peaceful place is all you require.
Udaipur – The city of Palaces and Lakes which flaunts sculpting and craving hypnotizes people. The lakes are so beautiful here. Colorful stuff here and there can fascinate you to go for it. Take a heritage walk across the attractions and end up seeing the sunset on a boat. One good to go weekend getaway can surely be this.
Manali – It is one of the most famous hill stations of India with the clear water of river Beas surrounded by lush green mountains is an ideal destination for a quick escape. The town also acts as a gateway to Leh and Spiti. Hadimba temple and Rohtang pass remain in demand always. Paragliding, rafting, and skiing are for brave souls. No wonder, Manali has proven to be among the best places to try the adventure.
