Travel Story to India!!

My Story starts with when I decided to step out of my comfort zone and book a solo trip to India. I was excited but upon arrival I found that I was not at all prepared for my journey as I was scared, and hardly wanted to leave my hotel so I began to research women traveling in Delhi. To my surprise I found a a company from Delhi which has been doing tours with solo Female Travelers, so I called to inquiry and they said would pick me up in a few hours! I was extremely nervous but Wovoyage Superguide made me feel comfortable.

I spent my first day in Delhi with Wovoyage Super Guide guiding me to visit different sights Red Fort ,Lotus Temple,Gurudwara Bangla Sahib ,Lotus temple,Humayun Tomb checking out some local hot spots in Chandni chowk ,Khan market and learning about the culture in India. This day drastically changed my mindset and confidence about my trip and I went on to travel India for the next 5 weeks solo!

Then from Delhi I went to the stunning Tajmahal in Agra and Stood in awe of its magnificence. A quick stop in Orcha to see some remarkable ruins and then a train to the ancient city of Varanasi for Diwali- one of India’s biggest festivals. From there I flew to Kerala to enjoy the serenity of the back waters and met some lovely Australian girls, they shared their house boat with me to cruise along the rivers.

From there I made my way up the west coast of India by train. Absolutely terrifying at first but the Indian women on the train made the experience one I will never forget. Though we are not able to understand a single thing either of us was trying to say, the ladies ordered me food from the locals so I didn't starve on the 18 hr train ride!

Then on my trip comes Goa I lazed on the beautiful beaches and met people from all over the world, from Goan overnight bus to Hampi where I met a great girl from Sweden. We rented a moped and ripped around the ancient town to scope out all the ruins.

There I got an invitation from my new friend to come to her summer house on the border of Sweden! Alone again I ventured from Hampi to my last destination in Mumbai where I was invited to two Indian weddings. The most extravagant events I have ever attended, dressed in my friend’s Saree. Utterly amazed by the venues, outfits, food and so much more.

It was the most incredible way to end up life changing trip to India! My trip was filled with a few of most amazing memories of my life. Yes some of the memories were a bit frightening but they were all a learning experience and without Wovoyage Super Guide guidance on the first day I probably wouldn't have stayed. She didn't even know at the time what an impact our day had together and I couldn't be happier she is helping other women concurs their fears just like I did!
