Itinerary
Day
01
Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport and begin your scenic drive to Mirissa, a beautiful coastal town in Sri Lanka. Check in to your hotel and spend the evening relaxing by the beach, enjoying the sunset, or unwinding after your journey.

- Reach the airport before 10 AM. Group pickup will be done between 10:30 AM to 11 AM (only once).

- Check-in will be done by the evening.
Day
02
Explore Sri Lanka’s southern coast with a visit to a turtle hatchery to learn about sea turtle conservation. Enjoy a peaceful boat safari along the Madu River through mangrove-covered waterways before heading to Galle Dutch Fort. Walk through its historic streets, explore charming cafés and boutiques, and enjoy ocean views from the fort walls before returning to Mirissa.

03
Leave the tropical coastline behind and travel inland towards Ella via Udawalawe. Enjoy the changing landscapes as coastal scenery gives way to lush greenery, countryside, forests, and rolling hills. Upon reaching Ella, check in to your hotel and enjoy a relaxing evening surrounded by the cool mountain air.

Discover Ella’s scenic beauty with a visit to the iconic Nine Arches Bridge, surrounded by lush greenery and rolling hills. Continue with a hike to Little Adam’s Peak, where panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and mountains await. Spend the evening at leisure, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of Ella.

05
Begin the day with a scenic train journey from Ella to Ambewela, passing through mist-covered mountains, tea plantations, and green valleys. Continue by road to Nuwara Eliya, where you will visit Seetha Amman Temple, explore Gregory Lake, and discover the process of Ceylon tea production at a local tea factory and plantation. Later, travel to Kandy and check in to your hotel.

- The Ella–Ambewela train journey is subject to availability. If this train is unavailable, the alternative will be the Ella–Badulla train journey.
- Activities like speedboat riding and cycling around Gregory Lake are not included in the package cost. You can pay on the spot.

06
Travel towards Sigiriya with a visit to the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, where you can observe elephants and learn about their care and conservation. Continue to Dambulla to explore the Dambulla Cave Temple, known for its ancient Buddhist murals, statues, and cave shrines. Arrive in Sigiriya, check in to your hotel, and enjoy a relaxing evening.

07
Begin the day with a visit to the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Climb the ancient rock and discover its fascinating history while enjoying spectacular views of the surrounding forests and countryside. Continue to Colombo, Sri Lanka’s vibrant commercial capital, and explore its cultural landmarks, temples, and notable city sights, including Gangaramaya Temple. Enjoy some time for shopping before checking in to your hotel for your final evening.

08
Enjoy your final breakfast in Sri Lanka before checking out of your hotel. Transfer to Bandaranaike International Airport for your onward journey, taking home memories of tropical beaches, scenic train rides, tea plantations, historic temples, and beautiful hill country landscapes.

- Airport drop-off is scheduled around 11:30 AM to 12 PM. So book your return flights accordingly.

Yes. Wovoyage is a women-led travel company founded in 2016 and based in Gurugram, India. Every women-only departure to Sri Lanka travels with a female trip leader, uses stays the team has vetted, and comes with 24/7 on-trip support. Most travellers join alone and share a twin room with another woman from the group.
We don’t have any age policy. We have had 22-year-olds gel fantastically with 65-year-olds. As long as you are fit to travel (get on flights, moderate walking), there is no restriction from our side.
